Stephen Mitchell Appointed to ACNielsen Managing Director, New Zealand

ACNielsen today announced the appointment of Stephen Mitchell to managing director, ACNielsen New Zealand, effective December 1, 2005.

Alistair Watts, Managing Director, Pacific & Japan, said Mr Mitchell would drive ACNielsen New Zealand's retail and customised research services to new heights.

"Steve has the depth and breadth of experience necessary to drive our New Zealand business forward, with his extensive knowledge of ACNielsen and our clients' business along with solid experience working in a variety of market environments."

Stephen recently returned to his native New Zealand from Asia, where he spent three years as managing director, ACNielsen Malaysia after a period in Japan heading ACNielsen's Retail business. He joined ACNielsen in New Zealand in 1993.

In his new role, Steve will also act as executive director for ACNielsen's retail business, as well as continuing with his current responsibilities as regional client executive director. He will continue to report to Alistair Watts, ACNielsen managing director, Pacific and Japan.
